Delete Your Account
You can delete your Kwipsy account and its data at any time — in the app, or by writing to us if you no longer have the app.
What gets deleted
Your account, your decks, cards, notes and tags, the images and audio you added to cards, your review history and scheduling state, your study activity, and sync metadata.
How long it takes
Once the deletion is confirmed, you are signed out and the account can no longer be used. Its data is permanently erased from our live systems 30 days later. We keep the account identifier and the dates of the deletion, so that the account cannot be used again, and our purchase records, which contain no name, email address or payment card details. Crash reports, analytics events (if you agreed to analytics), server logs and the emails we sent you are not deleted with the account; they expire on the schedules in our Privacy Policy. Copies of our databases are deleted automatically 35 days after they are made, so the account's data is gone from them too within 65 days of your request. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
Confirming it's you
Because this permanently removes your data, we confirm a request comes from the account holder before acting on it. Request deletion from the email address on your account, and reply if we ask for anything further to confirm ownership. If you used Sign in with Apple and hid your email, write from any address and include the relay address shown in your Apple Account settings under Sign in with Apple → Kwipsy.
What we can't delete on request
Deleting your account also removes the files our service providers store for us, such as your images and audio in object storage. Security and abuse-monitoring records that a provider keeps to protect its own service cannot be deleted on request — they expire on that provider's own retention schedule.
